COSTA RICA SL28/SL34 BLACK DIAMOND NATURAL

This Costa Rica Black Diamond Natural comes from Finca La Julia, processed at the Las Lajas Micromill by Oscar & Francisca Chacón. A blend of SL28 and SL34, this lot is full of berry muffin, biscuit, cranberry, and black tea notes. The Chacóns pioneered Costa Rica’s micromill movement and embraced natural processing after a 2008 earthquake transforming challenge into innovation. This aerobically fermented coffee is dried slowly on raised beds and showcases the depth, clarity, and fruit-forward elegance that defines the Black Diamond profile.

About the farm: This is a natural aerobic process, where once the cherries are harvested, they are transferred to the mill for their classification, where only those with a high percentage of brix degrees are chosen. After this they are transferred to the greenhouse patio for their dehydration. During the first week the cherries are placed in a thick layer, in order to ferment aerobically. After this first week the coffee is spread in a thin layer until the drying process is finished

We pack all orders and then ship them out at 9 AM on Monday through USPS. For international orders, we use DHL, which ships at 11 AM on Monday.
